Da'wah and Socks? Just love it!

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Ever heard of the "Socks" model?let me take a situation from the pavements nearby Falaki Street nearby Mara Hostel. At most times,it is full of people walking by.

Everyday, there is this young man, spreading his blanket, arranging the socks in orderly manner, from dark coloured socks from the left side, and brighter pairs to the right.

Since Egypt is fairly dusty during summer,he would very often clean and brush his socks from time to time to maintain the quality and cleanliness of his products. He would call the passersby to visit his shop.

If they come passing by,he will be happy, and if they doesn't,he would not run after them. At some time he might shouted in a clear and confident tone,

"3 pairs for 10 pounds captain!"

"Take a look ma'am. These are the latest design! "

As for his appearance,of course he will suit up neat and tidy. Those who came usually doesn't want to know the percentage of polysterr and cotton of those socks right?

He would just say how cozy and lovely they are.

If only they want to know more,he will be more than pleased to share his knowledge.

Now, see yourself as that young man,in real life. The product you promoting is Islam,a divine religion from Allah, not even comparable by socks,

and those passersby are people around you.

What can you see?

What can you observe?

The best way of calling others to Islam is by our attitude itself. Let us always remind ourselves that dakwah is not an easy task, it may take a very long period, even Prophet Nuh as called his people for more than 900 years, yet the numbers subscribing him were very discouraging.

You may not have that much time, but Allah has all the time he needed.

And don't ever expecting people to always listen to you, because it is Allah who touches their hearts, not us, not even the Prophet of all Prophets,Muhammad bin Abdullah (Peace be upon him).

We are just obliged to preach them with wise words and beautiful preaching. Do the best, and leave the rest to Allah!

And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful.
(ali Imran : 104)
